Note: Accredited and Certified Play Therapists do not have to pay additional fees for PQ qualifications such as Certified Clinical Supervisor, Filial Play Coach or Practitioner in Therapeutic Sand Play Skills

If you are considering leaving PTUK / PTI as a member, you may wish to opt for the non-practising membership instead.

It will allow you to keep in touch with the Membership Body and will make your return to practice quicker and smoother.

Time Away• Can return any time, and a top up invoice will be sent for the difference between the non-practising fee already paid and their main practising grade.
• Can renew maximum 3 times / years in a row, after which will need to renew the membership as having been away from PTUK / PTI
Practising grade fee (as above) plus an additional £20/€25 to PTUK/PTI to cover the administrative costs incurred.
CPDKeep up with the PTUK / PTI communications (reading the Journal, PFL, GTK, etc)30 hours within the last year you have been away:

• 16 hours of which (per year) as a minimum in Category 1 or 2 if you have been working / practising with children
• If you have not been working / practising with children, you will need 30 hours within the last year in any category

Supervision RequirementsNone4 supervision sessions of at least 1 hour per session with a Certified Clinical PTUK/PTI/PTIRL supervisor.
A list of supervisors can be found on the PTUK/PTI Supervisors Register on the PTUK website.
The supervisor will be required to send a report detailing four supervisory sessions to confirm that these meetings have taken place, and they consider the play therapist to be fit to practice with children and young people in play therapy. Both the supervision sessions and the report will be at the play therapist’s expense. Once these sessions have been completed, members may choose to use a different supervisor, as long as they are a current member/ supervisor with PTUK/PTI.

The above steps are set out to ensure all returning registrants are competent & meet the required standard to practice before being included on the PTUK PSA register.
