Avril Gallagher
I have over 30 years of experience in educational and therapeutic settings, I hold a Master’s degree in Special and Inclusive Education (University of Ireland Galway) and a postgraduate qualification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) (IICP). This background equips me with a strong foundation to support children with a wide range of emotional, behavioural, and developmental needs. As a registered play therapist, I have completed over 400 hours of supervised practice, utilising evidence-based therapeutic techniques to foster safe, nurturing environments where children can explore their emotions and overcome personal challenges. My child-centered approach allows young people to express themselves through play and other creative modalities, promoting emotional resilience, social development, and coping strategies. As co-founder of Inspire Play Therapy, I work closely with children and families in the Donegal and Derry/Londonderry areas, providing tailored support that empowers children and strengthens family connections. Our services are dedicated to fostering emotional well-being and personal growth in the lives of the children we serve. Discover more about our journey on Instagram: @inspireplaytherapy.
