Sinead Leigh

I am an accredited Play Therapist with PTIrl and have over a decade of experience working with children and families. With a background in Montessori and Primary Education, I hold a B.A. (Hons) in Montessori Education from St Nicholas Montessori College and a Postgraduate Diploma in Play Therapy from NUI Galway. Since qualifying as a Play Therapist in 2019, I have worked in both school and private settings, offering therapeutic support to children aged 3–17 years. I am the founder of Play It Out Therapy, a private practice based in Drumcondra, Dublin 9. I provide Play Therapy services within primary schools in Dublin 5. My approach is child-centred, compassionate, and non-judgemental, offering children a safe and creative space to explore big feelings and inner struggles. My playroom is thoughtfully designed and fully equipped with a wide range of creative media including art, sand, puppets, music, role play, and more allowing children to express themselves in the way that feels right for them. I work with a variety of emotional and behavioural concerns, including anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, attachment difficulties, bereavement, parental separation, and more. In addition to one-to-one therapy, I also facilitate group play therapy and offer parental support throughout the therapeutic process. I am committed to ethical and professional practice, hold full professional indemnity insurance, and is Garda vetted. Most recently I am currently training as a Clinical Supervisor with PTIrl and a child & adolescent psychotherapist with IICP. For those seeking support for their child or adolescent, I offer an initial consultation to determine whether Play Therapy is the most suitable approach and to guide families through the process with care and clarity.
