Dr. Elaine Hutchinson
Hi - I’m Elaine, I work with children, teens, young people and their families to help them manage stressful situations and challenging behaviours and I help parents to confidently connect with the child or teen when things are hard, so life is calmer for everyone. I also supervise and train therapists and mental health practitioners here in the UK and internationally. If it is important to you, my doctorate was a DClinPracRes at Exeter University where I researched the importance of creativity in therapy and supervision. I work mostly from my studio in Wells, Somerset where I am accompanied by Orca, my working therapy dog who looks like Hairy Maclary from Donaldson's Dairy. Orca is a collie/poodle cross who loves scratches under her chin, chasing bubbles and destroying my paper airplanes. She loves welcoming new clients to the studio and teaching them where her biscuits are kept. Should you like to find out more about me and Orca, why I have more creative activities, miniatures and toys in my studio than the average toy shop and exactly why the coffee cupboard is important to parents, please pop over to Creating Calm’s website and have a snoop. You can also go to my diary and book a discovery call with me if you fancy a chat - that’s found at creatingcalm.setmore.com/bookclass. If all that is a bit much because you are busy, send me an email through the register and I will get back to you as soon as I can. (Orca finds the keyboard and spelling a bit tricky!). Thanks - Elaine.
