Kim May-Wickens

I am a registered Play and Creative Arts Therapist with Play Therapy UK (PTUK), having completed my Master’s degree, and I am also a qualified Creative Supervisor. I have undertaken further specialist training in attachment-based approaches, including Filial Therapy, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), and PCAP. I have over 20 years’ experience working with children, young people, and their families. My career began within the fostering sector, where I continue to work. I have extensive experience delivering therapeutic support across a range of settings, including schools, private practice, and specialist services. For 10 years, I led a specialist therapy service supporting children and young people who had experienced sexual abuse, as well as facilitating training and support groups for parents and carers. More recently, I have completed training in Yo-Chi, a holistic, creative, and educational programme for children that integrates elements of Seasonal Yoga, Tai Chi, mindfulness, play, and therapeutic storytelling to support emotional, mental, and physical wellbeing. My professional and personal experience has shaped a strong passion for working creatively with children and their families. I offer a child-led and person centred, holistic, and trauma-informed approach. I am based in Ashford, Kent, and also offer online Creative Supervision and therapeutic support for children and young people, where this is deemed appropriate and in line with their needs.
