I am an accredited Play Therapist and an experienced therapeutic Social Worker. I have worked therapeutically with children and their families for many years. The aim of therapy is - to increase an individual’s emotional wellbeing, resiliency and self-awareness - to process and understand trauma/issues impacting on them and their behaviour to increase self-esteem and self-identity, and to enhance close relationships by - having an opportunity to explore their own thoughts and feelings through play in a non-intrusive way - having the opportunity to contain their issues in a safe and confidential environment - enabling individuals to process their issues age appropriately in their own time, and to express themselves in a safe environment. Therapy can assist with addressing emotional dysregulation/behavioural difficulties/mental health issues, and communication problems - those who have experienced abuse, trauma and/or loss - sensory processing difficulties/sensitivities - low self-esteem and poor self-identity - relationship and attachment difficulties: children in separated/blended families, domestic abuse, children in care (in foster care and adopted) - struggles with social interaction with peers - it can be useful for anyone over the age of four years old: children, young people, even adults! I work with children/young people and adults, in one-to-one therapeutic sessions, small therapeutic groups, larger psycho-social groups, parenting support and consultation with professionals. My work encompasses a mixture of play therapy, relational and interactive work (utilising dyadic developmental psychotherapy (DDP) and parent child attachment play (PCAP)). My qualifications are Postgraduate Diploma in Play Therapy (University of Christchurch, UK), Bachelor of Social Work (Canterbury University, New Zealand), Certified Supervisor in Creative Arts (PTUK). I have also trained in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP Institute). I am based in North Wales
