The Post Qualifying Certificate in Creative Supervision is an advanced professional training programme designed for experienced play therapists, counsellors, creative arts therapists, and related practitioners who wish to develop specialist skills in clinical supervision.
This highly practical and experiential course combines established supervision theory with the use of creative and expressive approaches, enabling participants to supervise both individuals and groups working across health, education, and social care settings. Through live supervision practice, reflective learning, sandplay, creative arts methods, and feedback, participants will deepen their understanding of the supervisory relationship while developing confidence as effective supervisors and leaders.
The programme explores key areas including supervision models, ethical and transcultural issues, developmental stages of supervision, group supervision, professional identity, and the role of creativity within reflective practice. Participants will also undertake supervised clinical supervision practice and develop their own philosophy of supervision.
Successful graduates will gain a nationally and internationally recognised qualification and, where eligible, may be listed on the Professional Standards Authority Accredited Register as a Certified Supervisor of Play and Creative Arts Therapists.
Course Length: 8 days (7 training days plus 1 follow-up assessment day)
